Denys Stratiychuk
Denys, a 22-year-old from Chernivtsi region, served in the military from the age of 18. On February 24, 2022, during the full-scale invasion, his unit played a vital role in intercepting enemies and liberating villages in the early stages of the war. Unfortunately, Denys was wounded under mortar fire in the Bakhmut district, resulting in the amputation of his arm. Despite having no prior experience in painting, Denys chose to depict the sea as a powerful symbol of freedom in his artwork. The boat in the middle of the sea represents a person fully immersed in their own will, finding ultimate fulfillment in these waters. This artwork holds great significance for Denys, as it reflects his desire for personal freedom and the pursuit of one's true aspirations.
