The soldier, originally from Kyiv, aimed to capture something alive in this painting. Not just the chamomile growing in the field but also the ladybug insect, that we called "sonechko" (sunny) which is associated with summer and childhood. He wanted to convey the memories of how these insects would land on one's hand and then gracefully fly off to another flower. In these challenging times, the artist expresses a universal desire for everyone to occasionally immerse themselves in the innocence and joy of childhood.
