Oleksandr Popyka

Oleksandr, 35 years old from the Kyiv region, proudly served in the 30th Prince Konstanty Ostrogski Mechanized Brigade. During a fierce assault, he sustained a severe injury from a tank shell but displayed incredible bravery by continuing to fight for an hour and a half. Remarkably, he was the sole survivor among a group of seven soldiers. In his artwork, Oleksandr depicts himself, inspired by his call sign "Cat." He earned this nickname due to the numerous attempts on his life by the enemy in 2014, where he narrowly escaped death eight times in a single day. Apart from his military service, Oleksandr is passionate about motocross and auto rally. He even owns a sports motorcycle and has founded his own children's military-patriotic sports center, which has been operating for seven years.
