Olga Semenyuk

Olga is a 72-year-old mother whose son served in the 2014 defense of Ukraine against Russia's illegal invasion. She shares her story "My son died due to diseases he acquired during his service. I depicted a butterfly in my artwork as a symbol of rebirth, because this creature comes into the world as a caterpillar and eventually turns into a magical butterfly." This piece is Olga's poignant tribute to her son and a symbol of hope amidst grief.
