Svitlana Hlavatska

Svitlana is the wife of a soldier who went missing in Donetsk region on May 20, 2022, and mother of two sons — one of whom continues to defend Ukraine. She and her husband, Volodymyr, have been married for 28 years. To this day, his fate remains unknown. Svitlana lives in hope and expectation, searching daily through every possible source for even a mention of him, clinging to the belief in his return. In the meantime, they have become grandparents to two girls who know their grandfather only from photos. Svitlana regularly attends art therapy, which she says brings peace to her soul and joy through the creative process. Her painting, inspired by the longing for spring and warmth, reflects her inner yearning for renewal and light.
